What plants can I grow under a very shady pergola. I have primroses and bluebells for the winter,?
and some ferns in the summer , but it looks drab and requires colour, most flowers i've put there have not flowered through lack of light.
What plants can I grow under a very shady pergola. I have primroses and bluebells for the winter,?
Hostas are good for this situation. The flowers aren't magnificent but the foilage colour makes up for that. Mahonia, Camellia and Helleborus are a few others. Mecanopsis does well in shade too.
Reply:You can try climbers such as different breeds of morning glories, which would climb the pergola to receive sufficient sunlight, and add dabs of colours to the structure. Grape vines and lily of the valley would also be lovely. If you must plant underneath the pergola, try plants that grow well in shades, such as other breeds of lilies, such as the Peace Lily or Calla Lily.
Reply:How about "MONKS HOOD" it grows in shady woods and in hedges.

Depending on what you are using it for, it may have varying results for you individually. Unfortunately there isn't much scientific evidence to prove its use to be effective.
Take a look at the link, it may help.

How long does it take for evening primrose oil 2,000 mg daily by mouth to work?
i am 37 1/2 weeks the baby is very big see causes my legs to go numb sharp pains down my legs i have fell many times becuase my legs gave out with her laying on my nerves
How long does it take for evening primrose oil 2,000 mg daily by mouth to work?
Softening your cervix will not cause labour, though it can make labour faster.
Please consider seeing a chiropracter. They may be able to help with the numbness. At the very least a chiropractor can make sure that the baby is in the optimal position.

Reply:I agree with the other posters.
I was on EPO when I conceived my last baby, and my doctor told me not to take it until after the baby.
I'd see my doctor right away for some further advice.
I'm sorry for the pain you are having; it sounds awful.
Good Luck.
Reply:Why are you taking so much? I have never heard of taking this much while pregnant for relief of pain. I think you got some bad advice somewhere. There are many things you can do to help relieve the nerves and pain and the position of the baby without taking that stuff. Get on your bed on all fours. (like a dog). Gently rock back and forth with your head down and your elbows bent down to the bed. Do this for about 30mins each day and this helps the baby transition to another position and hopefully off your nerves. Good luck and get off that stuff!
Reply:you need to be talking to your doctor about the leg problems. if the baby is really that big they will induce you early. there is nothing that you can take to induce labor yourself. everything you hear about are just old wives tales.
Reply:EPO won't induce your labor. It will make your cervix softer and dilate easier once it's time tho. No harm in taking it. But as for your nerve pain, get to a chiropractor and get that baby aligned better. If you can't, try homeopathic Pulsatilla and see if that gets your little one to move and give you some relief. Not much longer now!
Reply:You should see the doctor. This sounds serious and not like something you should be treating on your own. Plus, taking essential oil orally can be dangerous; they go rancid very easily and could be more damaging to your baby than the nerve thing. I undersand and respect the idea of trying to stay hollistic, especially when your pregnant, but this is something that might need a doctor. Plus, you falling down at this stage in the game could really cause some long term damage. Good luck, and Congratulations

Can evening primrose help for a women in pain?
It's been a godsend for me. I take 1000mgs every day (lower didn't help), and I only use Healthcrafts (no other brand worked for me). It took two months for the effects to kick it, but it's been great.
My PMT has eased, but the big improvement is in the period pain. I don't have it anymore. I started Evening Primrose a few years ago and the pain has never come back. It's such a relief. My period is no longer a big deal, there's no pain, no breast soreness, very little belly swelling and minimal PMT.
I love Evening Primrose!

Reply:Evening primrose oil (EPO) contains an omega-6 essential fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is felt to be the active ingredient. EPO has been studied in a wide variety of disorders, particularly those affected by metabolic products of essential fatty acids. However, high-quality evidence for its use in most conditions is still lacking.

Grading rationale
Uses based on tradition or theory
The below uses are based on tradition or scientific theories. They often have not been thoroughly tested in humans, and safety and effectiveness have not always been proven. Some of these conditions are potentially serious, and should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare provider.
Alcoholism, antioxidant, atherosclerosis, bruises (primrose oil applied to the skin), chemotherapy-induced neuropathy (nerve damage), Crohn's disease, cystic fibrosis, disorders of the stomach and intestines, fibroadenomas, hangover remedy, heart disease, hepatitis B, high cholesterol, hot flashes, inflammation, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones, melanoma, multiple sclerosis, pain, post-menopausal symptoms, post-natal depression, preventing preterm delivery, promoting easier birth, Sjögren's syndrome, skin conditions due to kidney failure in dialysis patients, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), ulcerative colitis, weight loss, whooping cough, wound healing (primrose oil poultice applied to the skin).
The below doses are based on scientific research, publications, traditional use, or expert opinion. Many herbs and supplements have not been thoroughly tested, and safety and effectiveness may not be proven. Brands may be made differently, with variable ingredients, even within the same brand. The below doses may not apply to all products. You should read product labels, and discuss doses with a qualified healthcare provider before starting therapy.
Standardization
Standardization involves measuring the amount of certain chemicals in products to try to make different preparations similar to each other. It is not always known if the chemicals being measured are the "active" ingredients. Standardizedcapsules of evening primrose oil (EPO) may contain about 320 milligrams of linoleic acid (LA), 40 milligrams of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), and 10 international units (IU) of vitamin E. Some preparations are labeled with percent content (70% LA, 9% GLA). LA from normal daily food intake provides approximately 250 to 1000 milligrams of GLA daily.
Adults (18 years and older)
Studies in the treatment of eczema or atopic dermatitis have used doses of 4 to 8 grams of evening primrose oil (EPO) daily, taken by mouth, divided into several smaller doses throughout the day. Studies of breast pain have used doses of 3 grams EPO daily, taken by mouth, divided into several smaller doses throughout the day.
Reply:A lot of women swear by it for their 'monthlys' but I've never tried it.
Ibuprofen is the best of all for period pain, but if you don't want pills, one of those little magnets they sell in Avon seems to help. It's a set of two blue magnets, the bigger magnet goes against your skin, and a little round magnet goes on the other side of your knickers to hold it in place... seems to work for me. Wear it throughout your period, only take off to wash, etc.
Reply:not for pain
Reply:You don't say whether this is related to periods specifically. Evening primrose should help if this is the case. Take the maximum dose and consult your doctor if you are on medication.
Other things you could try are reflexology, aromatherapy and acupressure, which you can use on yourself.
My daughter has bad period pains and I usually give her a reflexology treatment which does help.
Magnesium Phosphate homeopathic remedy is said to be good
Reply:Evening primrose oil contains substantial amounts of polysaturated omega-6 fatty acids, essential fatty acids (EFAs) which are needed by the body to regulate a number of activities including insulin utilization, heart function, and mood. Since the body does not produce EFAs, they must be ingested through proper diet or supplementation. In addition to omega-6 fatty acids, evening primrose oil contains linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Both linoleic acid and GLA are believed to have very positive health and medicinal indications. Linoleic acid may affect how the body utilizes insulin, maintains weight, and fights cancer and heart disease. GLA may help to inhibit the body's production of chemicals that cause inflammation. Consequently, evening primrose oil has been used in connection with inflammatory conditions including both rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. Some studies have also suggested that evening primrose oil may be useful in treating chronic fatigue syndrome, but more research is needed before evening primrose oil can be recommended for that condition.
Evening primrose oil may help to relieve pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), symptoms of menopause, and breast pain due to hormonal changes during menstruation. Supplementary GLA, such as is supplied by evening primrose oil, appears to relieve some PMS symptoms. However, many of the suggested uses of evening primrose seed oil have not been substantiated by sound clinic studies and research.
Both oral and topical forms of evening primrose oil have also been studied for treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. When used as a topical application on the skin, evening primrose oil has moisturizing and softening effects.
Additional research indicates that individuals suffering from diabetes, scleroderma, Sjorgen's syndrome, and tardive dyskinesia may be deficient in GLA. In preliminary studies, supplementation with Evening Primrose Oil aided individuals with these conditions.
Dosage
Most experts have recommended 3000 to 6000 mg of Evening Primrose Oil per day, which, when standardized, provides approximately 270-540 mg of GLA.
EPO is usually standardized to contain 8% gamma-linolenic acid.

What could be eating my Rhododendron and Primroses?
We moved in in November and something had eaten most of one Rhododendron but not others. The leaves fell off and now there are new buds but the little monsters have moved to surrounding Primroses, still no other plants as yet. Can't see anything on the plants, any ideas would be welcome.

Reply:Is it little notches taken out of the leaves?? If so, it may be vine weavils...they come out mostly after dark and can be picked off the plants...or use Tangle Foot.
I suggest you take a few of the leaves to your local garden centre.
Reply:Could be caterpillars as sometimes the butterfly lays one egg on each plant. The Caterpillar is highly camouflage and has changed into a chrysalis (pupa) by the time you notice anything. Look for small black droppings under the primrose. Otherwise spray immediately with a broad spectrum insecticide.
Reply:A hungry beast!!
Reply:If its in the Northern 1/2 of the country, its most likely deer.
If its on the bottom 4-5 ft of plants, thats it.
A number of different deer repellents are available to spray to give it a bad taste.
Organics like hot pepeer sprays, egg mixtures, and even garlicy stuff.

How do you remove little Primroses from their little cartons they come in and put them in clay pots?
It's for science fair, and I bought a pack of 28 primroses. The guy at the counter said that sooner or later the roots would squish together at the teeny little cartons that come in. I'm thinking about cutting them, but I'm not sure. Help?
How do you remove little Primroses from their little cartons they come in and put them in clay pots?
1) Make sure the soil around the primrose roots are a little moist.
2) Prepare the clay pots with fresh potting soil.
3) Gently squeeze the bottom of the plastic plant pot/plug to push the primrose out of the cell.
4) If the roots are bound up and growing together you can gently pull them apart or if necessary cut into the mass of root so that fresh roots may grow...try not to cut OFF the root mass, just into it. Don't worry though young plants are often really tough. (Mix in some Bone Meal to the soil if you like...it helps roots).
5) Make a divet in the clay pot soil and put in one plant per 4-6" radius. Push the soil in around the primrose.
6) Water in gently and fertilize with 6-8-6 (all purpose).
7) Enjoy!

Enrollment at Primrose Schools?
I was just curious without having to embarrass myself with touring a local Primrose school, how much do they usually run? I have a 19mo old and feel he needs to interact with more children his age and older. Does anyone have a child enrolled and how much does it run? Thanks!
Enrollment at Primrose Schools?
This can have many veriables depending on state and the local economy and the student to teacher ratio. Generaly for a child that young it can range from 25 to 35$apx a day for a full day program but it is best to call. Some schools allow part time enrollment but I don't know the fees as the one I worked for did not.
After years of Teaching preschool I want to say 19 months is Very early to start a child in preschool. if you are not working or if there is a smaller group setting. They really can't benifit from preschool as much at this age as they can benifit from being with you or grandma or in a very small home childcare where they can get more attention. Preschool is over rated. It is good for 4 year olds who's parents do not have time to interact with them or do not know how to teach the basics such as letter sounds. But at 2 they need a parent to be teaching them right form wrong. Young preschoolers often learn bad social habits not "social skills"
Believe me your love at this time will teach them far more than they will learn in a school, no matter how beautiful the environment.
Just a note most community centers offer mommy and me classes where he could interact and still have you close by and they run 5-10$ a class which is far better emotionaly.

Ladies i'm about to start using the evening primrose oil...?
anybody have a good experience using this? i've heard it works great. just looking for advice from people who know anything about it. i'm at 39 weeks and about 4 cm dilated. thanks to all of you!
Ladies i'm about to start using the evening primrose oil...?
I began taking it around 37 weeks last time and delivered at 39 weeks and 5 days. It helps ripen the cervix. Take two capsules a day, and if you can stick one up in your vagina near your cervix, that will help things along even more. Next time start taking it earlier, around 35 weeks. Many midwives recommend starting capsules at 34 weeks and then cervical application around 37 weeks. I'm 34 weeks and am about to start with capsules. :) It won't make you go into labor, and there's no scary side effects. It's a great way to help your body prepare for the big show.
Reply:Ok i took Castor oil and it worked! i did however mix it with koolaid cause it was awfull! It did start contractions the same day (Friday) but it didn't take full affect until Sunday night. When I started to get timely contractions I was worried that it was false, so my dad (i don't know how he knew this) told me to drink wine cause it turns false labor into real labor so I drank a wine cooler and went to bed. 2 hours later I was on the way to the hospital in hard labor.

Has anyone taken primrose oil to induce labor?? If so, Did it work>??
Primrose doesn't induce labor, you put it into the vagina to help soften the cervix to make labor progress easier, but it does not actually induce you. Yes it does soften the cervix with time insert a capsule or two every night at bedtime.
Has anyone taken primrose oil to induce labor?? If so, Did it work%26gt;??
I thought about doing it, but I heard it cleans out your body. I wasnt going to risk having loose stools trying to push a baby out. But thats just me. I heard it works.. but I tried everything but that with my second and I couldnt get my body in labor at all.

Does having evening primrose make your boobs bigger?
boobs or anything else
Does having evening primrose make your boobs bigger?
growing boobs can take time and the only thing to make them bigger is time. be patient. they will grow of their own accord and let nature take its time. be happy in your body and if your boobs arent growing as fast as you wanted try wearing higher neck tops to create the illusion of bigger breasts.

Can some of you tell me your experience with using primrose oil....?
I know it doesnt induce labor, but does it really help your cervix? See, i am about 38 weeks pregnant and my cervix is still closed. My Dr. said when my cervix was ready we could induce, so I went and got some primrose oil 1300mg. I started today using it, I inserted one and swallowed 2 ...how long does it take to work? If it does?
Can some of you tell me your experience with using primrose oil....?
I am a huge believe that when the body is ready then its ready. Inducing before the body is ready can result in a more difficult labor and a longer labor. There are many complicated hormonal pathways involved in labor. Inducing before the body is ready only supplies a few of the hormones not all of them. If you go weeks over your due date then induce, but now, I would just wait and let your body take the lead. The female body is very good at delivering babies, just let it do the work.
Reply:I agree with the others that say don't do anything to induce yourself. Your body knows what it's doing. Also, before they induce, they will prepare your cervix to soften. They usually do this the night before induction. Of my four children, two were induced and the doctor's did what they needed to do to make the cervix ready.
Reply:my mid wife told me the same thing but i never did it.
i was a 3, 3 weeks before i was induced and a five the day before.
good luck!
Reply:Never put anything into your pregnant body that the doctor has not told you to. You don't know what kind of harm you can do to your baby or yourself. Babies come when they are ready. Nature takes care of preparing you.
Reply:your 38 weeks still have two weeks to go why are trying to induce now you don't have to start dilating this early loads of women start dilating days before labor
taking primrose oil is going to do nothing unless your ready to go into labor which by the sounds of it your not
most of these things are old wife's tales and don't work anyway
Reply:I can't say that I tried primrose oil to try and soften my cervix...I used to walk up hills and ride over gravel roads (did not work!!) Just made me nauseated.
I have heard that you are supposed to take the primrose oil suring the last 4 weeks of your pregnancy because it takes a while to work...but if you are taking it now, I would not take it any more than twice a day...any more than that is overkill.
I wish you the best of luck for you and your new baby....I have included a website that may educate you on the use of primrose (borage) oil...

Question about Evening Primrose Oil?
I started taking Evening Primrose Oil to help with fertility last month and had the worst pms I have had in a long time. The funny thing is that it's supposed to help with pms symptoms. Has anyone else had this? What are your experiences using EPO?
Question about Evening Primrose Oil?
heather.....i've heard some good and bad things about the PO. i have no personal experience with it, but you might get more responses if you throw this question on the gen par bb where the women there have already had their babies. good luck with your induction!
Anymore questions ask Me
Reply:I don't really think those things help. Get the ovulation strips - and see when you are ovulating - start the strip testing at about 12 days after your menstration - when it say your ovulating - you know what to do - once a day for at least 3 days.
Good luck!
Reply:It is suppose to help and it does in the long term- you're body is probably not use to being completly cleansed-try it more and see how ur body reacts.
Reply:I used it after not getting pregnant for 4 months. Within a few weeks I was pregnant. It made me more irritable, but it's not meant to minimize your symptoms it's meant to even out your hormones. So maybe you are not conceiving because your hormones are not in balance and Primrose is putting your body in check. Just let nature take it's course

Where can I buy Evening Primrose Oil ?
If you are using it for the purpose of inducing labor it's really not a good idea. For the most part there is no safe way to induce labor, unless you are doing it under the supervision of your doctor or midwife. Baby will come when he/she is ready.
If you are using it for other purposes, it is available at most drugstores.
Where can I buy Evening Primrose Oil ?
You can buy it at any health food store
Reply:Usually at any health food store. I'll assume you're trying to induce yourself? Just make sure that you're not doing this too early as you don't want to try this and have complications. There are many con's against self-induction, so just make sure that you're comfortable with whatever methods you're using and you know any side effects that you may have/get. I've seen a few women have a normal pregnancy they were impatient with turn bad when they self induced. On the other hand, I've seen them work well and everything go smoothly. Research everything and ask your Dr. with any concerns.
Reply:You can buy it at Boots, or many other chemists!

Does evening primrose oil make u put on weight?
ive been taking these evening primrose capsules for my skin but i seem to have put on a bit of weight do u think thats a cause of these capsules?
Does evening primrose oil make u put on weight?
Like any fat or oil, Evening Primrose Oil contains 9calories per 1g. Most capsules don't even contain this much, so with a recommended intake of 2000calories each day (for a woman), this won't make any difference.
The benefits of EPO are mainly from the vitamin content (vitamin E), known for it's good effect on skin, it may also help with PMT!
For an even healthier approach, you might consider not taking a supplement at all, but including a handful of seeds (sesame, linseed, sunflower and pumpkin) with your cereal in the morning instead-this is the best way to get all the benefits of these seed oils in the freshest way possible...make sure you chew them well, as they may pass through your body undigested otherwise.

Evening Primrose and Multi-Vitamins causes high blood???
I started taking evening primrose and multi-vitamins together for 1 week. And for whole of that week i felt giddy, and doc measured that i've got high blood. I stopped the supplements for 3 days and giddyness stopped. then when I took back both supplements again, and measured my blood pressure again, it was 155/90! then i stopped for 1 week and my blood pressure now hovers around 135/77 to 142/82. Any relations?
Evening Primrose and Multi-Vitamins causes high blood???
If your eating a balanced diet, you don't need vitamins. After all my heart problems, I'm scared to take them.
Keep in mind that hemlock is deadly poison and "all natural".
Reply:evening primsrose will raise blood pressure. there may be a preservative in the multivits that you are sensitive to.
but 135/77 is hypertension as well. Suggest you stop the supplements, take your bp every morning for ten days to see if there is a trend, take those results to your doctor.

Anyone take evening primrose tablets?
I am starting to take these to help my mood swings and cramps during my period. When should i take them though? Everyday of the year or the week before my period, the day of my period, i dunno lol. Thanks in advance
xx :-) xx
Anyone take evening primrose tablets?
Hi, I've taken these in the past and they DO help with mood swings, cramps.. I think exercise helps a lot more though!
There's an alternative for Oil of Evening primrose, a stronger form called Starflower Oil, i take these, one a day, every day.
You need to take them every day or they won't build up in your system and work properly.
Good Luck, i know what it's like to suffer PMT! :-)
Reply:you would be better of if you took a high strength of vitamin b and what ever you do stay away from chocolate that will make your moods worse and drink plenty of water
Reply:I take them every day. They really do help. I also have bad eczema and it helps that too.
Reply:Good for skin and dry scalp problems as well.
Reply:I take them but they don't seem to do anything really
Reply:Hi there. You should take them everyday, for at least a few months, for them to help you. Good luck! :)
Reply:Take 1,000-3,000 mg every day. When it gets closer to that time, its okay to take a little extra for a boost for a couple of days. Barleans is a reputable brand--they specialize in just oils.
Great choice!!!

Is evening primrose oil ok for late teens and young adults, or is it just for older women ?
It used for all age. Just follow the leaflet inside.
Is evening primrose oil ok for late teens and young adults, or is it just for older women ?
I have read up on it because I was using it myself and I am young. While I was taking it my breasts became very sore and tender. After I quit taking it, I felt fine again. I later had the opportunity to discuss this with a qualified homeopath, and she said evening primrose oil is for women who have gone through menopause or those who have had complete hysterectomies. It can be harmful to normal young people. She did say flax seed oil and EPA fish oils were good to take at any age, so I now take those and I feel great. I hope this helps.
Reply:I took it in my teens. It didn't affect my ability to get pregnant...I was pregnant about 5 yrs after I had taken it (it's been 7-8 yrs)...
I haven't come down with cancer yet, but I suppose if any negative side effects happen in the future, I'll note it on here.
I believe I took it to prevent cramps from being really bad while I was using Black Cohosh to regulate my periods. Black Cohosh is highly not recommended, but the evening primrose oil shouldn't be that unhealthy, and has gamma-linolenic acid.
If you're really concerned, talk to your Gyn/primary care doctors to determine whether it's a good option for your age group, or if there is anything else that might be a healthier option ^_^
Good luck!

Do any of you remember the song Primrose Lane by Billy Valentine?
For some reason, that song just popped into my head. My mom use to play the radio when she was getting ready for work, and I learned a lot of pop tunes when I was a kid.

Do any of you remember the song Primrose Lane by Billy Valentine?
"boss" song -- remember went it came out -- thanks for the quick trip back.
Reply:I do indeed remember that song. I forgot about it until you mentioned it. I also learned a lot of tunes when I was a youngster also, via American Bandstand %26amp; the radio. I still love music %26amp; my radio is on a lot, even in my car.

I'm having Evening Primrose Oil all the way, if I get pregnant %26amp; I don't know for the whole mth, will the Evening Primrose Oil effect my baby?.. Does it harmful to the baby?..
Do Evening Primrose Oil harmful to pregnancy?..?
Evening Primrose Oil is often taken in late pregnancy to help prepare for giving birth. Normal dose is up to 1000 mg.
If you're concerned about your health it's always best to consult a medical doctor.
Reply:I'm not sure. If you are planning on getting pregnant talk to your doctor about any medications or herbal suppliments that you may be taking. Some can be fatal to a embryo.
Reply:No... I took evening primrose oil to help my menses reguarise and got pregnant thereafter... I stopped after a week of finding out I was pregnant..
However, I have read that evening primrose oil taken at later stage of pregnancy can induce labour... so you may want to stop now...
dont worry... cause your worry is whats going to cause harm to the baby... just relax its ok to stop now....
Take care.

Evening Primrose Oil and inducing labor?
EPO doesn't induce labor. It ripens the cervix but does not cause contractions.
Yes, I used it in 2 of my 3 pregnancies to help prepare my cervix.
Reply:My sil's midwife gave this to her, she didnt have any side effects its complety safe. But it didnt do nothing for her she took for 2 1/2 weeks strat to try and get into labor and nothing..
It boils down when baby is ready it will come. =)
Reply:I took it, didn't work. My cervix was hard as a rock and I was induced.
Reply:Im not sure about that kind of oil. My friend took some castor oil to induce her labor because she was 10 1/2 months and the doctors wouldnt induce her. She said it was disgusting but it worked. So I would becareful with oils like that in general.
Reply:Don't do any of the oils. that's not good for you or the baby. If you want to get things moving try something natural like intercourse or nipple stimulation.
Reply:Please don't try to induce your labor yourself...I did and all it got me was 32 hours of labor and a c-section. Your baby will come when it is ready or when your doctor decides it's ready. Good Luck, but please don't induce yourself! I had my only child by c-section and if we have more children, I'll have to deliver by c-sec as well and I will never be able to experience a vaginal birth because of the risk of my incision rupturing! I didn't try the primrose oil, I did try just about everything else though. It will be over with soon enough, don't rush it!
Reply:I found this tidbit thought it was interesting see link below"Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should not use this herb." You can find this quote under: Are There Any Possible Problems or Complications?
Reply:I've tried it all 3 times I've been pregnant, it didn't do anything the first time, it seemed to dilate me slightly faster the 2nd time, and it hasn't helped me dilate any faster this time...
My personal opinion is that nothing helps until the baby/your body are ready.
If you really want to try it though you should be able to find it at wal-mart or pretty much anywhere with a selection of vitamins. I got my bottle at wal-mart for like $5.
Reply:I started using it at around 39 weeks. My midwife told me it was completely safe. I used gel capsules (available at health stores, supermarkets etc) , taking 2 orally in the morning with breakfast, and puncturing 2 more with a needle and inserting them at night. I really have no idea whether or not they worked, my daughter was born 9 days late. Hope this helps :)

How much should I take? Do I take every single day, or just when I have PMS? Thank you in advance!

Is it EVENING PRIMROSE OIL(GAMMA-LINOLENIK ACID)good for skin or my face.please answer my question?
That can help too to lessen acne on your face.
Please tell me about using primrose oil...Im 38 weeks pregnant and just started using it what can I expect?
This is my second baby, I am not trying to induce, just help get things going...my cervix was still closed yesterday. So today I bought some primrose oil 1300 mg, I inserted one and swallowed 2, Do you think this will help my cervix? And how long does it take to work? If it does...
Please tell me about using primrose oil...Im 38 weeks pregnant and just started using it what can I expect?
And for the rest of us ....... ;-)
I used it successfully with my last pregnancy. I started it 2 weeks before I went into labor. I STARTED labor at 5cm dilated %26amp; 80% effaced! Needless to say, I had a pretty short labor.
I punctured the capsules, got as much of the oil as possible on my fingers and then rubbed it into my cervix. I did this twice during the day. At night, I did the same thing, but I punctured 1 extra one and just slipped it up my vagina and it dissolved on its' own. I used 1000mg capsules. I tried swallowing them just once, but I burped up the oil (big EEEWWWW!!!), so I never did that again.
Good Luck!!!
Reply:Primrose oil is a POISON...Stop it! Dr's will not even C section at 38 weeks in FEAR that the babys lungs are not mature yet.
I would not be so hasty, I know that its almost over but labor happens when the LUNGS ARE MATURE enough to take oxygen.
You dont want a NICU baby do you?

Is it ok to take Evening Primrose every day if I'm trying to conceive?
No, you should start taking it during your period and take it daily until you ovulate. After you ovulate you should stop using it til your next cycle starts.

If I insert eveing primrose oil (capsule form) every night?
will the capsule dissolve by morning, or will I have to take the pill out?
How many do I use a night ( full term pregnancy)
If I insert eveing primrose oil (capsule form) every night?
Evening primrose oil is a commonly used method of naturally preparing the body for labor. It does not directly induce labor, as commonly believed. Evening primrose oil acts as a prostaglandin, which ripens and softens the cervix. The ripening of the cervix can help the baby’s head engage deeper into the pelvis, which can help with dilation. Ripening the cervix can cause some of the contractions that start labor. Sometimes, though, these contractions are simply Braxton-Hicks contractions, which help prepare the body for labor, but do not mean you are in active labor yet. Ripening the cervix can help trigger the onset of labor, but it is unlikely that evening primrose oil will bring on labor in a woman whose body is not otherwise ready. Even if you end up having to induce labor, using evening primrose oil in the days and weeks prior to induction can still be beneficial. When the cervix has been ripened and softened, induction has a much higher rate of being successful. The ripening of the cervix may even aid in making labor faster and easier.
Evening primrose oil is a less invasive method of triggering labor, so it can be used earlier in the pregnancy than some other methods. As soon as 34 weeks, evening primrose oil can be taken orally. It is generally recommended to take two 500mg capsules a day until 38 weeks. At that time usage can be increased to 3-4 capsules per day. An entire capsule can also be inserted vaginally. It is best to do this before bed, so the capsule can dissolve while you sleep. You can also use the oil during perineal massage, and massage it on the cervix as well. Applying the oil directly to the cervix will produce the best results, but the ingredients in evening primrose oil can also be absorbed through the external skin or stomach.
The body can be stubborn, and even when using all the natural methods of inducing labor that are available, you still may not go into labor right away. The most important thing you can do is relax, since stress itself can delay or even stall your labor. Unless there is a medical reason to worry, don’t be concerned if your due date has come and gone. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, your body and your baby are preparing for labor to begin.
Reply:at first i used 2 capsules inserted. a few times i did three. they should be disolved by morning, however you might want to wear a thin pad because of some of the extra oil leaking out. if there is anything left of the pill b morning, dont try to get it out. it will either come out on its own, or it will continue to absorb.
Reply:Yeah, I agree with PP, why are you inserting it and what is it for? I know the EPO is used to GET pregnant, why do you need it while pregnant.
EDIT: I read the second post...I didn't know this!! I'll have to try that later in my pregnancy.

Ripening the Cervix with Borage Oil or Evening Primrose Oil
I put some borage oil on my glove (with my client's informed consent) and did an exam. I didn't strip the membranes and could not even reach the cervix because it was too far posterior. Those who are overdue ( or even before if desired) can take a capsule at night orally and put one in the vagina to melt.
Apparently Borage seed oil works because the GLAs have prostaglandin precursors which start labor. Black currant seed and Evening Primrose are other options that supposedly work too but have fewer GLAs and may be cheaper to purchase.
I usually squirt Evening Primrose on to my fingers and separate the cervix from the membranes, making sure to get the oil all over the cervix. Then I sometimes just put one or two capsules into the vagina. They dissolve there. I wouldn't do that at a hospital birth however, because The MD might be shocked to see those little capsules born with the baby!
I have good success with using EPO with VBAC mums. One went from unripe cervix to delivery 6 days later. I get them to use an oral dose of three 500 mg caps/day.
Evening Primrose Oil acts as a prostaglandin, which ripens or softens the cervix. It's also useful for softening scar tissue from abortions or IUD damage. This will soften/ripen the cervical tissues and increase the flexibility of the pelvic ligaments. This will help the baby to deeply engage in the pelvis. This early application of the baby's head will assist with dilation and should result in a relatively easy birth, even after multiple C-sections for "stalled" labor. Evening Primrose Oil may be helpful for women with borderline pelvises as well. The utilization of Evening Primrose Oil seems to enhance the complex set of biochemical messages that initiate labor.
You can take evening primrose oil, orally, in the last four weeks of your pregnancy. You should take three evening primrose oil capsules daily for the first week (36th week of gestation) and then one to two capsules a day for the last three weeks of pregnancy.
2X/day oral and suppository starting at your due date or the week before, check with your midwife first.
My midwife told me to take Evening Primrose oil (gel-caps) 3X's per day and to insert 2 in the vagina at bedtime--you must stay laying down or else they fall out.
Evening Primrose oil can soften the cervix. My midwife recommends taking 3 capsules per day for the last 4 to 6 weeks. However, it doesn't START labor, only prepares the cervix. It is not an emmenagogue or get more oxytocin into your system.
My friend's doctor said you should never insert anything into the vaginal canal. My friend used it and got an infection and a bad irritation to inserting it into her. Please just post that use with caution. I wouldn't want anyone else to be hurt like this. Thank you.
This information seems contradictory.
Does this doctor ever do cervical exams during pregnancy? Do they recommend no sexual intercourse during pregnancy? If sexual intercourse is OK, do they suggest using condoms so that semen isn't put into the vagina? Semen is much more powerful than evening primrose oil, although they contain some of the same active ingredients.
All of those involve inserting something into the vagina.
Obviously, anything inserted into the vagina should be clean and not harmful to the tissues, but evening primrose oil is less likely to cause infection than a penis.

I am trying for a baby, there is also a possibility I am pregnant now though it would be early days as I dont know yet! Is it safe to use evening primrose oil capsules whilst pregnant and whilst trying?
Evening Primrose Oil and Pregnancy?
I haven't found anything saying that it is harmful while pregnant or ttc. I also haven't read anything that says it is beneficial during pregnancy either. The info I have just says that it is a natural estrogen promoter.

Primrose question?
Bought 2 small primroses...they r indoors ...and blooming... container too small can i transplant them while blooming into larger containers and will they continue to bloom if i pinch off the old blooms?
Primrose question?
Hi:
You can go ahead and pinch off the old blooms and put the plants into a larger size container. Make sure you use a light weight potting soil and you can also add some vermiculite and humus to the soil. Mix some warm water with the other ingredients as this will help the root systems tranpslant better. Make sure you give the plants enough sunlight as well as water, but don't over water.
If you plan on putting the plants outside, they do spread and can take over a garden. I recommend to my clients if they want to keep Primose contained, to plant in larger planters and use as an accent. I have grown Primrose from seed and transplanted out into a garden and it has taken over the garden. If you have an open space outdoors, go ahead and plant the Primrose and you will have a beautiful landscape area.

Reply:Yes, but they would thrive better if outdoors. also if they are large enough plants you could split them. When you have them out of their current pots, take a knife and slice straight through from top to bottom. sounds a bit drastic, but they will recover.

Positive results from using EVENING PRIMROSE OIL???
I was planning on using evening primrose oil to ripen my cervix for birth... but when I read the bottle, the warnings kinda scared me. Who here has taken it, and had positive results? If so, how many capsules did u take, and how long did it take to work?
Positive results from using EVENING PRIMROSE OIL???
I used it with babies #2 and #3. Wondering what was on the bottle that scared you?
I used 2 capsules vaginally every night at bedtime in the final couple of weeks of my pregnancies. Start it about about 37 weeks.
DO NOT use blue or black cohosh without the direct supervision of a caregiver who is experienced with the use of herbs and pregnancy.
I am not aware of any risks to using EPO in late pregnancy.
Reply:I didnt use it I had sex alot and i was 90% effaced at an early 31 weeks. What put me into labow was walking for and hour and a half AFTER the doc stripped my membranes. Went into labor 6 hours after that.
Reply:I read the warning before too and they scared me as well. I then heard about Red Rasberry Leaf tea. This sounded much safer. Much easier to use and yummy too. Maybe give that a try. You can find it in health stores or the organic section of the super market.
Reply:If your term is up then black cohosh is good for ripening the cervix. Talk to your health care provider first however as there can be risks.

Has anyone used EPO in order to increase their fertility? Please let me know how it worked for you
Have You Taken Evening Primrose Oil to Aid In Fertility?
No but the way that me and my boyfriend got pregnant twice was by not using any kind of lubricant or oral sex b4 sex. Lubricants can harm sperm and saliva from oral sex can 2. So don't use any baby oil, vaseline, ky jelly, don't use anything. So try it and c if it works.
Reply:I heard that rubbing primrose oil on your belly helps with fertility but I think it is an old wives tail!
Reply:no, havent usesed eny thing like that, but you could go to you'r libray and read storys about it.

Evening Primrose oil and conceving?
Hello all,
Have anyone or known any one that took evening primrose oil and successful conceived, pleae share your experience.

Evening Primrose oil and conceving?
I drank green tea with my last pregnancy... to get pregnant that is. When you are at your peak concieving time your body makes a runny cm so that the sperm have a better chance of making it to your egg. I did find that when I drank the green tea that it produced more of that and I was pg in two months after starting the green tea stuff. I drank only about a cup a day. That was the webmd experiment while I was on there. A lot of women got pregnant in about the same time frame.

Evening Primrose Oil is for women of all ages but mainly for women over the age of 45. Everyone talks about soy being good for women but it only has 3 of the omega fatty acids. Evening Primrose Oil has all of the omega fatty acids that a woman needs. It can also make your hair and nails stronger.
Reply:Never heard of this.
Reply:It depends on the individual. I was recommended Evening Primrose a few years ago from a friend and take it regulary.
If you suffer from pre-menstrual tension (including tenderness/soreness of breasts) like me its a great natural remedy. Its also proven to be good for treating arthritus and pains in joints and generally to keep you calm.
I would say if you suffer from any of the above than consider taking it.
Reply:Evening Primrose oil is a good source of GLA, although if you were to take an oil, borage seed oil has a higher concentration of this Omega 6 oil, which does have health benefits.
Or, if you're just going to take one thing, perhaps a good omega 3 fish oil.
There are a lot of good supplements worthy of taking out there. Consider meeting with a nutritionist and discussing what really makes sense for your needs.
Reply:I think that is for any chemical imbalances in your body but not sure I know my aunt takes is and has not done anything bad to her
Reply:Are you pregnant? I heard of people using this to stretch their thingy out before giving birth. Other then that I don't know what's its good for.

Does evening primrose oil work for inducing labor?
DOES IT REALLY WORK? IS IT HARMFUL TO THE BABY AND HOW DO U USE IT? PEOPLE SAY U RUB IT ON UR CERVIX BUT HOW DO U REACH IT'??? im 39 wks 2.5 cm 70% effaced
Does evening primrose oil work for inducing labor?
i am a nurse and have treated people whom have tried that if u want a terrible labor and delivery try it id wait till mother nature says its time
Reply:I have been taking 2,000 mg of EPO orally for the past 2 weeks (I am almost 38 weeks) and the past 3 days I have been using 1000 on my cervix at night. I haven't experienced any mucus or loss of plug until today, a little stringy mucus. So I think it might be working - but I do know it DOES NOT INDUCE LABOR - it simply helps to soften the cervix. And, I was informed by my obgyn, midwife, and birthing instructor that it IS SAFE and can't hurt to try it. The way I put it in vaginally is I break open 2 capsules and put the oil in a little medicine syringe (like a baby dropper- clean with alcohol) and insert it that way - I know you can put the pills in there %26amp; they will dissolve, but I feel better about the oil being directly on the cervix. If you are comfortable putting your fingers in there you can also squeeze it on your fingers %26amp; rub it onto the cervix. I have a hard time reaching it that way. WALK A LOT TOO!!! good luck!

Reply:I have heard a lot of weird crap in my day, but I have never heard that one. You could always but some on the end of your husbands erect penis and then have sex with him. Some people say that semen causes labor to begin...double whammy! (I wouldn't use EPRO if I where you. Seems that it could cause a bacterial overgrowth)
Reply:Well, I never heard of evening primrose, but I do know that castor oil works. It's awful tasting though - you need some orange juice to swallow it with. When someone first told me about it, they said that it helped the baby slide out. Yeah, Right! Okay! I thought these people were crazy - I'm an educated woman and I know that swallowing oil is not going to make a baby "slide out". So I called my mother who is a nurse, and she said that since it's a laxitive, it makes the bowels start moving and that usually helps start the contractions. In the old days, the nurses used to give women enemas to help induce labor. I drank the castor oil with my 2nd child, and, it definitely worked.
Reply:I heard spicy foods do like hot sauce.
Reply:Evening Primrose Oil contains prostaglandins and is used by many midwives for labor induction. Many doctors will argue that it does nothing but it certainly won't hurt to try. Insert a capsule into your vagina at bedtime and it will dissolve or break the cap and rub the oil on your cervix--it can be hard to reach so try sitting on the toilet or have your partner do it for you. If you aren't ready to go into labor it will do nothing.
Reply:EPO does not induce labor. It helps to ripen your cervix. It's safe to use....every midwife I've ever known recommends it. Take two capsules and insert them up near your cervix before bedtime. If you want, you can prick them with a pin and squeeze the oil out and rub it into your cervix. Make sure your hands are clean and nails are well trimmed. I found the best way to reach was either sitting on the toilet or standing with one foot up on the side of the tub.

Is evening primrose oil good for acne/spots??
Acne and evening primrose oil work well together because primrose oil can be used to treat acne both internally and on the surface of the skin. Evening Primrose oil can be taken internally, and 3000 to 6000 milligrams are recommended per day for the treatment of acne.
Topically, acne can be treated with Evening Primrose oil by applying the oil directly on the affected areas. Leave the oil on overnight, then wash your face well in the morning. This is how acne and evening primrose oil work together externally. Make sure it's organic.
I would recommend Weleda Calendolon Ointment for spots, acne scars. It really drys them out and fades the redness. An excellent ointment!!

Cholesterol and Blood Pressure – has been shown to reduce high serum cholesterol and blood pressure, but may take several weeks or longer to achieve.
Rheumatoid Arthritis – sufferers have discontinued use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs after supplementation, but it is more effective when taken in conjunction with fish oils.

Where can I find evening Primrose oil? Can this help soften my cervix?
You can find it at most major supermarkets and drugstores, in the vitamin and supplement section. It comes in capsule form, and you have to insert them vaginally. The best time to do it is before bed, so you won't be getting up and leaking oil all over. It is supposed to help, but it didn't seem to do much for me. But everyone's different. It's pretty inexpensive, and it can't hurt to try. Good luck!

i never heard of it i'm 37 wks and 6 days i make 38 wks and my cervix just starting to get soft...how far along r u??
Reply:Yes its supposed to ripen your cervix, you are supposed to take 1000 mg 3 times a day. It will not induce labor but will help get things going.
I am 37 weeks and I have been taking it since 36.
You can get it at Walgreens or Eckerds
Good luck
Reply:You can buy EPO at Wal-mart or Target or GNC. I just started taking it last month. My hubby %26amp; I are trying to concieve a baby %26amp; I heard it makes you have more cervical mucus which improves chanccces of pregnancy. However I don't know if it helps with softening the cervix? I did read online not to take it during pregnancy becuase it can couse the uterus to contract. I guess depending on how far along you are (like if you are over due) it may be ok -- but I would definately ask your doctor if it's safe! God bless you %26amp; hope you have a healthy baby!!!!!!

Evening Primrose Oil Vaginally?
How do I go about taking Evening primrose oil? My Dr. said this is fine but I didnt ask how I should take it...I have heard of using it vaginally and oraly I just dont know the best way.Can you help me out? I have already lost my mucus plug and am having irregular contractions I just need a boost, THANK YOU!
Evening Primrose Oil Vaginally?
Evening Primrose Oil is used to soften the cervix... you can take 3 orally and 2 vaginally every day. To use vaginally, you just place 2 in the vagina right before bed (you can pierce them if you like, but they're supposed to just disolve in there) and right before bed so they stay put and don't slide out. They should be gone by morning. You can do this everyday until you give birth.
Good luck, and I'm glad you're exploring this option!
Congratulations!
Reply:You will definitely benefit the most from inserting the primrose oil pills vaginally, especially since things are already starting to happen for you! Best of luck!

Primrose Oil? How???
I have the primrose oil capsules and I am just wondering. Is it more effective if you ake them orally or insert them? Also how much should I take? The capsules are 1000 mg each. And are there any side effects or can it cause harm if inserted vaginally?
Primrose Oil? How???
I tried them both ways and I found inserting them to be more effective.
When I swallowed them, I would burp up the taste, EEEWWWW!!!
I used a safety pin to pop them open. I used two 500mg tabs 3 times a day. I squirted the oil onto my fingers. I applied the oil directly to my cervix and would rub it in as much as I could. The whole process is pretty messy, so do wear a pantiliner throughout the day.
I started using these 3 weeks before I delivered. I was 5 cm before I even went into labor! I have used many methods to induce my own labor, but this was awesome at helping me to dilate early. Thumbs up for a fast labor :-)
***UPDATE***
During the day, I would suggest rubbing it into your cervix instead of inserting a capsule since it can slip. At night, inserting one is fine.
I really do not see what harm it would cause to use more capsules. Worse case scenerio, you dilate faster?! Evening primrose oil is super safe, I just would not SWALLOW more than directed.
At night, why not try messaging your cervix with 1 capsule full and then inserting another as a suppository?
I dont know how it will go with you, but I started losing mucous the day after I began using the capsules. You should notice immediate results!
Reply:Either way will do.
Evening primrose oil is an excellent source of prostaglandins. The general recommendation is to take 3-4 primrose oil capsules (500 mg per capsule) daily. Primrose oil can also be applied directly on the cervix if your membranes are intact (and you have not been diagnosed with placenta previa). Use the oil on your fingers to apply it on the cervix. If you have difficulties to reach it, ask your partner to insert the entire capsule into your vagina just before bedtime.
REad below for more advice on this:
Reply:I have never heard of using them as a vaginal suppository. Take them orally as instructed on the bottle.
Reply:They are more effective if used as suppositories. My midwife suggested doing that but I took them orally instead and it did no good for me. No side effects for me, just ineffective. The only side effects I've heard of is the chance of diarrhea.

Teeth Pain

Okay I have been reading like crazy...Some say take it orally some say just put the pill in and let it melt. Some say to take the oil out on your fingers and rub it up in there. So which works best and how do you actually really use it....like people wit expiernce using it....
Evening Primrose Oil....How do I use it?
Hi, since I was induced last time I knew when the birth was going to be. I was told by my midwife to start taking it three or four days before the birth. I took it in pill form by mouth although you can take it other ways. I can't remember the dosage though. With my first birth, I had an episiotomy. Second birth I tore. But with my third birth with taking the evening primrose oil I did not tear or anything. Hope that helps.
Reply:I take it every day - orally with a meal. It's a pill - not a suppository or a cream.
Reply:For what purpose are you going to use it? I take it orally for breast health.

Is it ok to take clomid while taking folic acid and evening primrose oil? Please help!?
Call the pharmacy if your doctor isn't in...or even the ask a nurse 800 number...they're everywhere. Don't take a chance and have all that counteract with each other or keep you up all night. Take care.

Is Primrose oil and red rasberry tea leaf safe when your 39 weeks.??
With the tea I believe it is have a cup in the morning and at night, I had tabs but they made me have terrible headaches so I stoped them.
And primrose I also had tabs, It should have a dosage on the side of the bottle though.
"The dosage taken should be 1500mg to 3000mg per day" maybe some smart person can convert that for you =)
Reply:I drank organic raspberry leaf tea right up to having my baby. Never used primrose oil but I heard alot of people say they used it. Both are all natural so you should be fine. Just use them in moderation and if you are still unsure ask your MD or Midwife. Congrats to you and good luck with your delivery!!

Will taking evening primrose oil help?
I am 37 weeks pg and am 3-4 cm dialated and 100% effaced, I had my "bloody show" still having bloody mucus everytime I wipe, will evening primrose oil help get things active?
Will taking evening primrose oil help?
It takes awhile to have it in your system to get any results. EPO, thins your cervix and makes it "ripe" for labor. Sounds like your body already did it on its own. Good luck, you are having a baby any time now!
Reply:i don't think so. EPO takes about 2 months to start working.
Reply:EPO does not induce labor. It ripens the cervix. If you are already 3-4 cm and 100% effaced, I doubt there is much need for it in your case.
Instead, I'd suggest having sex. Semen can ripen the cervix and orgasm can bring on contractions. Those contrax could turn into real labor.
Just an FYI, I was 3-4 cm and 100% effaced with my first for at least a week before labor started.

Where do you get primrose oil?
I think I will try it...where do you get it!!! Thanks!!!
Where do you get primrose oil?
i got mine from walmart. any cvs, walgreens, or somewhere should have it though...your welcome!!
Reply:You can usually find it in the skincare section of health food stores... It's also called Evening Primrose oil.
Reply:Google and see if you have a 'Healthfoods unlimited' or GNC. They carry the tinctures which are easier to use then the caplets. (In my opinion... sometimes that gel caps dont dissolve totally and you have a mess on your hands) With tinctures you can just lie with your pelvis supported by a pillow.
Reply:Evening primrose capsules are available at any drugstore.

Fertility Blend, Evening Primrose Oil and Folic Acid?
I have been ttc for 16 months now. Yesterday I purchased Fertility Blend, EPO and folic acid. Does anyone know anything about any of these products? Has anyone used them? Any success stories? I have already started taking the folic acid. I know I cant take the EPO until my next menstural cycle....from period until O then stop...but what about fertility blend...that is my main concern? And has anyone used EPO and actually seen an abundance more of cervical fluid? Thanks in advance
Fertility Blend, Evening Primrose Oil and Folic Acid?
I was looking for an herbal substance to help my fertility, and I did a lot of research into all of them. I settled on Vitex.
I got capsules of it for cheap off eBay, and after 5 days on it I was having a little relief. I've been on it for 3 weeks now, and I'm definitely seeing a change. Plus, I found lots of success stories!
Good luck!
Reply:EPO as a daily supplement (usually 500mg 3x/day) can be beneficial not only to your general health but in creating a more suitable cervical mucus environment for sperm. Most docs/midwives don't recommend using more than 500mg/day EPO during pregnancy until the last month because it helps your body produce the prostaglandins (i probably didn't spell that correctly) necessary to ripen the cervix for labor. Folic acid is also needed daily, pregnant or not, but during pregnancy its especially essential in preventing birth defects, and most docs suggest a daily supplement of folic acid at least a few months before conception. I personally know nothing about fertility blend. One thing though-EPO gave my sister slight headaches (none for me) and has been known to soften stools. Another 'suppplement' that i have found is great during pregnancy (when you do conceive) is red raspberryleaf tea-great for uterine health and nausea. GOOD LUCK!!!!
Reply:From what I know:
Evening primrose oil is helpful for cervical mucous.
Folic Acid is a good idea to take when trying to conceive and definitely during pregnancy because it is known to help your reproductive organs and during pregnancy it prevents neural tube defects and helps aid brain development.
Fertility Blend does work, but you should stop the folic acid while taking it because Fertility blend is basically a very high dosage pre-natal vitamin with chaste-berry herb in it which is also shown to help reproductive organs in studies. There are also green tea extracts in Fertility Blend which is known to be a good anti-oxidant and also helps cervical mucous.
My sister in law used Fertility Blend after many miscarriages and learning she had a luteal phase defect. The Fertility Blend regulated her cycles and she was pregnant within 3 months of using it. She carried the baby to full term and delivered a perfectly healthy child. She has since conceived and given birth to another full-term (overdue) beautiful baby boy all within the last 2 years.
Try this way....The best way to not miss ovulation is to throw out the thermometers and begin having sex every other day between days 9-22 of your cycle. Have your partner abstain from any ejaculation on the day in between to rebuild his sperm count whether he has a problem or not. (Fertility Blend is also available for men)
Sperm can live in your body under the right conditions anywhere from 3 days to 1 week and by having sex every other day through most of your cycle, you are guaranteeing that you will have sperm available for that egg. Try to lay still for at least 10-15 minute after sex with your knees up.
You should definitely be having sex before, during and after ovulation.. basically all month long.. no chart can tell you exactly when ovulation happened or is about to happen..its a guide if that..if your cycle is not perfect the method is not going to work and many things such as fever, illness, infection can alter your temps and mucous. Forget about charting and have a lot of sex all month long. when trying to conceive there is no such thing as too much sex. ( All the information regarding charting came from my fertility specialist.. and I did read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility..as well used the software and tried the method before I knocked it)
Lots of luck..baby dust!
Hope this helps you!
Note: some manufactures call Chaste-Berry "Vitex" or Chaste-Berry Vitex..so Fertility Blend will help you.
