The Primrose Hill Fireworks have not been held since 2001. The main reasons why the event does not take place are:
an audience of up to 42,000 could be accommodated safely on Primrose Hill, but over 50,000 people attended in 2001
a strategic advisory group comprising Metropolitan, Royal Parks and British Transport Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, London Transport and Health and Safety Officers had agreed the upper limit and could not recommend a further event in light of the ever-increasing numbers attending
