Does anyone have any idea if evening primrose oil will help start labor again once it has been stopped?

I started to get contractions at around 2:30 pm yesterday i later went to the hospital when my contractions were every 4-5 min apart.I found out that i hadn't dialated and so they stopped my contractions.i would like to find out if evening primrose oil will help to bring them on again as the baby is ok to come out..NO idea y they were stopped in the first place.....

Does anyone have any idea if evening primrose oil will help start labor again once it has been stopped?
how far along are you? most doctors will stop them if you are not at least 36 or 37 weeks, why didn't you protest when you found out they were going to stop them?

oh and the evening primrose oil is for softening the cervix
Reply:i think it is suppose to relax you, not induce labor
Reply:Only use what your doctor advises - make sure you know all side effects for you and baby.
Reply:The lady above me sort of beat me to the punch, but I think it's worth reinforcing that evening primrose oil will NOT induce labour. As she said, it will soften the cervix, but will have no effect on contractions at all.

Before you look into ways to naturally induce labour, you would be best to find out why the doctors felt the need to stop your contractions to begin with.
Reply:try raspberry leaves, you can get them in holland and barrat i think its called you can get them in capsules or u can open them into boiling water and drink like tea. this is wot my midwife told me, also try a hot bath, sex or a hot curry is supposed to help. good luck, hope all goes well
