Evening primrose while pregnant, is it safe?

I read that in the last two months that it's a good idea to take evening primrose so that it softens the cervix. Is this true? if so, what dosage do you need to take? Can an over dose cause birth defects? Thanks

Evening primrose while pregnant, is it safe?
Yes its safe to start taking after week 36, take 3 orally and insert up to 5 opened capsules vag. at night..be sure to wear a pad as they can get messy.

Reply:I'm very interested in natural supplements and use them for different ailments, including fertility/hormonal problems but I have to warn you, that they are powerful. Just cuz they are natural does not mean they are any safter than typical medication. I wouldn't take any herbs or medications during pregnancy, unless it is approved by my doctor. So you cna run it by him or her, but in general, herbs have been known more to be benefical in ending pregnancy than supporting it. If you look on herbal tea bags, you will notice that they usually contain a warning about pregnant women taking this product, so to be on the safe side, I just wouldn't take it.
Reply:i would discuss this with you doctor some herbs can be healthy for you but dangerous for the baby especially if you dont know how much to consume
Reply:No wayy
