I am moving to London in September. Is Primrose Hill a good place to live?

I am moving with my wife and a newborn baby. I would be looking for a 2 bedroom flat to rent, how much would it cost?

I will be working in the city: how long does it take to commute?

I am moving to London in September. Is Primrose Hill a good place to live?
A relative of mine works for an estate agent that recently sold a property in Primrose hill for - wait for it- £12m. That's twelve million pounds,.

Now, of course this is well above the average for the area, but even a two-bedroom flat is going to cost more than most people actually earn. Having said that, if you're working in the city you should be OK.

It is one of the nicest areas in London, admittedly, with the Hill itself as well as Regent's Park on the doorstep.

As for commuting, it is within easy walking distance of Swiss Cottage tube station (Jubilee Line), which will get you to Canary Wharf in about 30 mins, and Chalk Farm station on the Northern Line for Bank, Moorgate etc in even less time.

All told, if money was no object then Primrose Hill is the area of London I would choose to live in.

Good luck.
Reply:Its a very pleasant area but as others have said its expensive - look at findaproperty or rightmove for the costs of houses. If you want cheaper head more over towards Kentish Town/ Holloway or the South/ East of London is cheaper again and would be more convenient travel-wise for the city.

Depending on where you're working journey on the Northern Line/ cycling will take you about 20 mins
Reply:You're looking at about £325-£500 a week to rent a 2 bed flat.

Allow about 30-40 minutes for a commute depending on which tube stations you need to use for home and work.
Reply:For a 2 bed flat in Primrose Hill you are looking at a rental price of around 300-500+gbp per week. Below are the details of one at the bottom end of that range.

Reply:primrose hill - is exactly like hampstead and is only 5 mins down the road,

how much dough can you afford to spend and i will tell you the nicest place to live.

if you can afford it live in hampstead, primrose hill, highgate its beautiful. (350 - 500 pw), 30 mins to the city.

have you thought about kilburn, willesden green or dollis hill 30 mins to canary wharf on the jubilee 40mins to the city. (rental prices 200 - 300 pw and there are some really nice places, also 15 mins from hampstead.
Reply:Primrose Hill is a very nice place to live, lots of artry farty t.v types around there, No idea of house prices but the commute is only 15/20 mins to the city, 10 if you cycle.
