Have you found that evening primrose oil works for child's eczema?

Or any of the other suggested alternatives. I use emollients and a stronger steroid cream on my seven year old when it flares up badly. I hate using this. I use pure detergents, no fabric softener for her things, try and cook as much organic as I can, she bathes with Oilatum in her bath. She still has cow's milk for breakfast. Any success stories for help without traditional medication?

Hi, I have very bad eczema on my neck, my arms and my face. I've had since I was younger. I just found out that I have allergies to alot of the foods I eat.

Well Evening Primose Oil works for me. I don't know the correct dosage, but I usually have three pills a day. Maybe less than that would be better for your daughter. I also use Flaxseed Oil in addition. You can get these for a better price at Whole Foods, Market Street, etc. At Walgreens I find them extremely overpriced for a small bottle.

Hope this helps :]
Reply:No - didn't work for me. Epsom salt baths followed by aloe straight from the plant helped and vitamin e capsules help immensely
Reply:Hi, I get eczema and find that although not a cure, Evening Primrose Oil certainly helps it a lot. I take 500mg every night and it really helps control the horrible symptoms.

It certainly sounds as if you're doing all the right things for your daughter. I would recommend a lower dose of Evening Primrose Oil, but go for it. If you shop at ASDA it's quite cheap. Just over £1 for 30 1-a-day capsules.
