Will evening primrose oil really dialate your cervix?

I am 38 weeks pregnant, and never been so miserable in my whole life! This is number 2 my first pregnancy was never this painful. I was induced and it was great. Now I am 38 weeks and can barely walk, sometimes not at all...my dr refuses to listen to me. He just says when my cervix is ready he will induce. So will primrose oil help my cervix? It was still closed 2 days ago. thanks

Will evening primrose oil really dialate your cervix?
YES!!!!

It worked wonders for me! I was walking around at 5cm %26amp; 80% effaced at 37 weeks (Which was considered full term for twins). I started the EPO at 35 weeks (remember, 37 weeks is FT for twins!). I started losing my plug the same day I started using it.

NOTE: I would not recommend using it before 38 weeks for a singleton. Although it does not produce contractions, it can ripen your cervix enough so that your bag of waters could bulge out and break. Obviously, this is no problem if you are full term.

If you would like to know how to take it, just let me know and I will post what I did.

****UPDATE****

Hi Jilly,

I punctured 1 (1000mg) tab 3 times a day and applied it to my cervix. At night, I would puncture 1 additional tab and insert it like a suppository.

I swallowed one only once and I burped up the oil! You can swallow the tabs, but I have read that it works better if you apply the oil directly to your cervix.
Reply:Yes it does work... I am 39 weeks and my dr suggested I start using it.... I have also read that castor oil can help induce labour and raspbery leaf tea... Good luck....
Reply:I've read on many midwife websites that it does in fact work. Take 2 capsules and pin prick each end of both and insert them before you go to bed. Good luck my dear! It will be all over soon :)

Claire - I would like to know how you did it?
