What does Evening Primrose Oil do? And Raspberry Leaf Tea?

I keep hearing about taking both of these late in pregnancy... what exactly do each of them do? Are they reccommended?

What does Evening Primrose Oil do? And Raspberry Leaf Tea?
Raspberry leaf tea is a uterine toner and also has a lot of vitamins and nutrients into it, it doesn't "cause" contractions, but it isn't recommended to be taken until 36 weeks, just in case.

Evening primrose oil can be taken orally [not as effective] or as a gel pill that you insert, down stairs. it helps soften the cervix to aid dilation. Once again it will not CAUSE dilation, but it is not recommended until later in the third trimester, again, just in case. [I read somewhere 35 weeks was okay for this one... talk to your doctor though!

These don't work on everyone.. but midwives for many centuries have been using them to help get the body "ready" for labor!
Reply:Raspberry leaf tea can be taken through out the pregnancy. It provides lots of minerals, including calcium, and is a uterine toner. Mixing it with Nettles is especially yummy and delicious.

As far as the evening primrose oil.... I don't know. I take fish oil anyway as it provides DHA, but I've never heard of taking them just in the last trimester.
Reply:im not so sure on what it is exactly they do, but you dont wantto do anything that may cause contractions until you are 37 weeks.. which is considered full term and lung development should be fine.
Reply:im not sure what they do towards the end of your pregnancy. ive heard early when trying to conceive that they are supposed to be ways of helpign you concieve twins... but again idk if that is even true.
